But denominations and organizations use these verses improperly to generate more money for their "business". They use it to ask for money from anybody outside their group from both the saved and unsaved. I have never seen any scriptures in the New Covenant that could back up what they do. I can't find any other occasions in the scriptures that money was given outside assemblies, to the world of sinners. Are there verses that back up helping the world for their need? By reading the scriptures, I cannot find one instance like sending money for the poor world, building schools or water well, and making the world a better place, nor transforming the world and forming organizations to benefit the world.
I believe all the money given was to help the Christians. And by doing so, it serves for the advancement of the gospel by showing the world the love that we posses for each other; for the world to see that we are motivated by the Spirit of God to love each other, not just for a show but a genuine love from a caring heart rendered by salvation.
Of course, parts of the money given by the believers, are gifted to the Lord's preachers who are recommended full time to preach the good news to different places, and a little more allotted to the expenses of the meeting place if there is any (i.e. electricity nowadays). It is important to note though that there is no mention in the scriptures of getting money to build assembly buildings. Before, all assemblies were gathered in houses and there were no bills to pay. There were no buildings erected nor rented until many years later. So what most denominations do in taking money from anybody to build mega-structures, are so out of place.
Any Christian from the assembly who gives to support this world through any organization is not doing 100% good deed. Instead, they should support what they believe from the New Covenant: the gospel for the world and the money from the heart for the people in the assemblies and the assembly's needs . There is not much greater need than supporting preachers who are full time on the field. Serious givers will reap so much blessings for the present and rewards in the future. Many full time workers are giving their whole life to make a difference to send out gospel without a fixed salary only depending on the givers' heart to support them. And I can assure that the need is great. They need transportation, gas, food, clothes, their children's living abroad, renting, etc. All these are needed for the advancement of the gospel, and the pastor-preacher for the teaching of many local assemblies here and abroad.
Asking and taking money from unbelievers and people outside the assemblies is strictly prohibited (3 John verse 7). Giving money out to the world to "help" the world outside the assembly is also not scriptural. Obviously, denominations and organizations are doing contrary to what is written in the scriptures, thus, they show exactly that they belong to this world by participating fully and mingling with the world.
The scriptures teach us, Christians, to help our brethren. Let the world help the world. So if you are thinking of giving money as a gift, give it according to how and to whom the scriptures tell you. Give it to the Christians in need, not to the world.
