Eighteen years ago, I met a university student in Moncton who happened to be a Muslim. It was the first time I witnessed to a Muslim so I did not know yet how he would react to me. He told me that he believes in Jesus and that Jesus was a prophet from God . So I asked him if a prophet from God could lie. He said "No." So I agreed with him there. Then I quoted a verse to him from the New Covenant. In John 14 : 6, Jesus said, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one can come to the father but by me." He suddenly became so angry. He told me--and these are the exact words--"In my country I would a kill you." I got scared and walked away from him. I was so surprised at his reaction and shocked with his violent words. But now that I recall this instance, the young Muslim understood the verse I quoted to him very clearly. But for him this verse could not be true because if it were, then his Muslim religion would be in vain. Muslims believe that the last prophet is Mohammad and they all follow him, not Jesus. Killing me was the only way for him to defend himself because with one verse he understood that I was destroying is belief, demolishing the Muslim religion. Glad I was not in his country!
Because I hurt his religion's core so much with one quotation from the New Covenant, and because he stands on "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth" principle, his reaction was to kill me. He became a warrior to defend himself and his beliefs. In contrary to this, the Lord Jesus came with truth and love, not with weapon of war like the Muslim do or the Catholic organization did from the inquisition time so called under the name of God. Praises to the Lord Jesus for saving me not to be a part of them!
