The GOSPEL
"This is the word of the Faith [doctrine] which we are proclaiming. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from among the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart faith [personal faith] is exercised resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation," Romans 10:9. The doctrine of the gospel is based on 1 Corinthians 15: 3, "I received, that Christ died on behalf of our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was entombed, and that He has been raised on the third day according to the scriptures..." The result of this is applied to a sinner saved by grace. Thus in Romans 5:1-2, "Having therefore been justified by faith, peace we are having with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also our entree we have as a permanent possession into this unmerited favor in which we have been placed permanently, and rejoice upon the basis of hope of the glory of God." Other verses to read are: Ephesians 2:8, John 3:16, John 1:12, John 3:36, and Romans 3:23. Salvation is not by work but by grace (Ephesians 2:8). It is by faith. It is not by water baptism. It is not by speaking in tongues. |

To be saved, it is to know what the Holy God has to say about you as written in the scriptures [Bible] and for you to agree with Him about your poor state [condition] as a lost sinner, helpless, and on the way to hell [Hades]. To be saved is to receive the One who has paid everything for you at the cross, The Lord Jesus Christ, who bore your sins and died for you [unmerited favor] by grace alone.
Hebrews 4:13, "And there is not a thing created which is hidden from His sight. But all things are naked and laid bare to His eyes, to whom we must give account."
